Re: [Salon] As U.S. election nears, ‘fascism’ is in the spotlight again

What they are applying here to define Trump as a fascist, as I do, are by common characteristics he has with fascists, which is a worthy way of analysis. But that has the disadvantage and detriment of taking a legitimate concern of people such as uncontrolled immigration, and imputing fascism on to his supporters. Instead, I have been arguing here for how many years that a fascist defines themselves by what is called in Political Science: Political Theory. Every fascist movement has an underlying political theory, which develops into an ideology, that when successful, becomes adopted as a worldview. That applies to Marxism as notably as fascism, but also to Imperialist ideology, as represented in the U.S. by both parties, though more so by the Republicans going back to Teddy Roosevelt's Wars: the Spanish American War, the Banana Wars, and WW I (though ignorant and/or duplicitous Republicans/libertarians would revise history to solely place blame for the latter as "Wilson's War," as my friend Jim Bovard and all other libertarians do so well to keep their favored Republican Oligarchs in power, it would seem.
